Georgia Permit Test
Preparing to get your teen driver permit in Georgia is easy. Make sure to take the permit practice test to help you get ready for your trip to the Georgia Department of Drivers Services.
Learning to drive can be a big step for many teens, but it doesn’t have to be an anxious task if you know the path ahead to become a licensed driver.
The first thing to understand is that teens may apply for a driver permit when they turn 15. After completing driver education, and behind the wheel practice hours, drivers may then take the road test at age 16 to receive the basic Intermediate License with restrictions. This converts to an unrestricted Full License at age 18, with safe driving.
Driver education in Georgia is required to receive a license only for those under 17.
Parents play an important role in helping develop smart driving practices in their teen drivers. For great suggestions on safe driving programs for your family see the official Georgia Parent Teen Guide. http://www.dds.ga.gov/docs/forms/40Hour_ParentTeen_DrivingGuide.pdf
